Partnership with The Rabbit Hole Distillery

We went down another Rabbit Hole! We are excited to announce a partnership with The Rabbit Hole Distillery, headquartered in our hometown of Louisville, KY. I love everything about this company: the name, the founder's story, and its incredibly unique bourbon.

Rabbit Hole was founded in 2012 by Kaveh Zamanian, a PhD Psychologist. He fell in love with Kentucky’s native spirit through his wife Heather, a Louisville native, and he decided to make a career change and pursue starting his own Bourbon Distillery. Heather challenged him to finish this project and told him that he was taking the family down a rabbit hole from which they could never return.

What I admire about Kaveh and his craft is that he did not take the easy path many bourbon brands take. Many new distilleries will simply buy existing whiskey and rebrand it as their own. Not Kaveh, he quite literally went down the rabbit hole, immersing himself in the work and study of Bourbon. He crafted his own recipes, marrying heritage techniques with innovative, exclusive mash bills to create a portfolio of one-of-a-kind expressions of premium American whiskey.

I had the fortune of meeting Kaveh while set up selling our pens before the Holidays. He wanted to buy one from us at the time, but I wouldn't allow it. There was no way I could allow the founder of a distillery to walk around with a bourbon barrel pen not made from his barrels. This sparked a partnership as I was able to make him an ambassador pen out of his barrel and provide the distillery gift shop with exclusive Rabbit Hole Barrel pens.

I appreciate the entire team at the Rabbit Hole and highly recommend visiting their distillery in NULU. If you aren't coming to Louisville anytime soon, keep your eye out for Rabbit Hole in stores or in restaurants. My favorite is the Dareinger - Bourbon finished in Sherry Casks.
