Partnership with Hotel Del Coronado
Our collaboration with the historic Hotel Del Coronado
Hotel del Coronado, located on Coronado Island in San Diego, California, is a historic beachfront hotel that opened in 1888. Built by Elisha Babcock, Jr. and Hampton L. Story, it was the largest resort hotel in the world at the time. The hotel quickly became famous for its grandeur and Victorian architecture, attracting celebrities, politicians, and royalty.
The hotel played host to many notable events and figures over the years. It was the setting for the 1959 movie "Some Like It Hot," starring Marilyn Monroe, and has been visited by several U.S. presidents, including Benjamin Harrison, William McKinley, and Franklin D. Roosevelt. The hotel's iconic red turrets and wooden construction make it an architectural marvel, contributing to its designation as a National Historic Landmark in 1977.
In recent years, the Hotel del Coronado has undergone extensive renovations to preserve its historic charm while offering modern amenities. The wood from the hotel, rich in history, has been repurposed for various uses, including working with us to craft luxury writing instruments from the reclaimed pine wood.
These writing instruments are found exclusively at Hotel Del Coronado.
